Hipmunk hint to a new WiFi related feature

Woah, posting on the weekend!? I know, it’s not standard Project Wander operating procedure, but when Hipmunk hint at a new feature going live, I have to share it!

The Hipmunk posted something quite interesting on their Facebook page today, a little post that did a little more than hint at their future plans:

Some fans offered suggestions, mostly around searching for flights based on wither or not they have WiFi, to which Hipmunk responded:

So is that it? Will we see searches filtered/displayed by WiFi? The image does look exactly like a WiFi image added to the Virgin Airlines bar on their site.

Hipmunk won’t be the first flight metasearch site to show listings with WiFi, (Mobissimo claimed this feature was live on a blog post in 2009, but I couldn’t find an example of it) but it will be a very welcome feature for those of us who never want to be disconnected, even at 30 000 feet.

Of course, I could be way off?

Thanks, Alexis. I like to think of myself as a super-sleuth :) Can’t wait to see it in action.

Hey Graham — you’re right, of course. Mobissimo has been displaying in-flight WiFi options for the past two years. http://bit.ly/lSxfSQ  Showing information like this helps people choose the travel options they need.
Check out Sydney to NYC, or SFO, or SFO to Chicago…

(P.S.: I work with Mobissimo, the international travel search engine)
